Album Review: Terror - Still Suffer

Terror - “Still Suffer” album art

They’ve done it again - with 10 tracks coming in at just over 27 minutes of playtime, Los Angeles hardcore titans Terror prove their dominance in the genre once again with their 10th and latest LP “Still Suffer” available as of April 24th via Flatspot Records.

Engineered for the dancefloor, “Still Suffer” offers it all whether you're skanking, spinkicking, scrambling for the mic, or soaring off the PA. With former guitarist Todd Jones and studio wizard Taylor Young at the helm of production we get some of Terrors richest guitar tones yet (my god that bass…). From the ass-beating Promised Only Lies to the urban swag in Beauty In The Losses, there’s something in “Still Suffer” to love for any true fan of Terror and hardcore as a whole.

Lyrically, “Still Suffer” delves into themes of self doubt, conquering adversity, and solidarity in suffering. To still suffer is to still live and this record is a 22 minute long invitation to do just that with tracks reflecting on the path to self improvement, the pain brought on by life, and camaraderie among those who also chose to still suffer.

Hardcore is a team sport and that’s beautifully illustrated on this record through features from Hot Water Music's Chuck Ragan, Jay Mindforce, Big Bad Brody King (Gods Hate), and King Nines’ Dan Seely. Following the final track Deconstruct It, the final 5 minutes of sound essentially serves as audible liner notes, thanking friends and influences the old school way. In the format of voicemails played over a hip hop instrumental, we can hear sentiments shared from many (too many to list) notable people with innumerable contributions to the zeitgeist of hardcore. A sweet note to close out what will surely be one of 2026’s most pissed off records.

With rageful and commanding vocal performances from frontman Scott Vogel, violence inducing compositions from guitarists Jordan Posner and Martin Stuart, driving execution from bassist Chris Linkovich, and calculated destruction from drummer Nick Jett, “Still Suffer” is everything you would expect in a full length from Terror, a band that has been setting the standard of what great hardcore sounds like for the last 24 years. If you haven't heard it yet, you're doing yourself a great disservice.
