NEWS: BMTH Announce “Count Your Blessings” Re-record, and a one off 20th anniversary show.

“It’s not a phase, Mum!” has been proven to hold the test of time today. Let’s set the scene, it’s 2006, you’re getting ready for school, and you’re trying to get a grip on the tiniest, black pencil eyeliner to smudge below your water line like it’s warpaint. Your eyesight is compromised by a side fringe so sleek, so perfectly angled, and so flammable - from 3 cans of hairspray - but you look fucking awesome. Outside noise is blocked out, making it impossible for you to hear your Mum shouting at you from downstairs to, “Turn that screaming shit off.” What’s the soundtrack to all of this? None other than Bring Me The Horizon’s, “Count Your Blessings” of course.

If you only know Bring Me The Horizon for their recent records, you sorely missed out on what is widely considered to be their peak deathcore era. Exploding into the UK scene in 2006 with their debut EP, “This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For”, quickly followed by one of the most monumental and influential deathcore full length records, “Count Your Blessings”, Bring Me The Horizon shaped the music taste of thousands of young people - some who were barely teenagers - starting their journey into the world of heavy music.

The band, who originate from Sheffield, UK, gradually dampened their deathcore elements in the records that followed, before completely abandoning it in 2013 upon the release of, “Sempiternal”, another staple record which moulded the music taste of an entirely new generation of metalcore listeners. A couple albums were released in the years following, “That’s The Spirit” in 2015, and “amo” in 2019, before the band threw the most surprising curveball with their 2020 release, “POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR”, followed by, “POST HUMAN: NeX GEn”, in 2024. Zero deathcore elements, zero metalcore elements. This era of Bring Me The Horizon has been easily accessible for new fans to get involved with, but it also came at the cost of some OG fans refusing to play anything post-2013. We yearned for the mixes full of character, the screams that were done without technique, and the manic sounding riffs that forced you into full aggro mode. It seemed as though we’d lost all hope of Bring Me The Horizon ever returning to their roots, whether that be through drip feeding 2006 vocals back into their songs or ditching the electronic samples, we just wanted a taste of what we had growing up for nostalgia.

Vocalist, Oli Sykes, teased that they were up to something by posting a clip of him in the studio, behind a mic, reciting lyrics from, Pray For Plagues, earlier this year on 3rd February, which caused fans to spiral into a state of assumption. Were we getting a full re-record of “Count Your Blessings” for its 20th anniversary? Or were we just getting some old songs put into their tour setlist? A re-record seemed far-fetched as Oli had previously admitted that he completely fried his vocal chords during the bands’ early days from doing vocals with improper technique, thus being unable to execute them for extended periods of time.

Fast forward to 10th April 2026, when Manchester residents spotted posters around the city, citing the words, “Pray For Plagues” which sparked speculation surrounding the records’ upcoming 20th anniversary. Others noticed they were printed in the same font as UK festival, Outbreak, leading to the question of, “Are Bring Me The Horizon doing a throwback set at the festival?” Everyone had their idea of what they thought, or hoped, the announcement would be, but none of us expected to get smacked with a double whammy just 3 days later.

A full re-record release and throwback show on the same day, 10th July 2026, that is god tier levels of spoiling us. Bring Me The Horizon will play a 5000 cap, one-off show on Friday 10th July, presented by Outbreak Fest, running back “Count Your Blessings” in full plus other songs (more throwbacks please). They will be joined by a stacked line-up from Static Dress, Dying Wish, Heriot, Rolo Tomassi, Car Underwater, and Still In Love - some of which are already playing at Outbreak 2026 - to deliver what is going to be the ultimate nostalgia-driven pit. It’s going to be sweaty and it’s going to be chaotic. So, to everyone who was ever ostracised for their music taste back in the 2000s, this is for you, this is for us.

You can pre-order the album and get early access to tickets HERE, otherwise they go on general sale at 10am GMT on Friday 17th April.
